Holy Crap Gravity is Unbelievable!

GravityVery few times do I get excited about something new, and even fewer times do I feel like I get in; liking something that is popular at the ground level. The last time I jumped on the 'cool train' was with Southpark, and that lasted till the bastards made fun of my man Phil Collins.

However, I feel this time I've discovered the next big thing, the next thing all the cool kids will be into, and that is an incredibly amazing and talented rock band from Cleveland called Gravity!

Mind you these guys are mostly STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL but holy cow, they are more talented than anything else you will find out there today in modern rock!

I saw them open for Dream Theater and they were ten times better than the other two opening acts, maybe even better than Dream Theater themselves. This is what progressive rock bands should be striving for!

A combination and inspiration of progressive rock and metal, Gravity sounds a bit like Genesis on steroids combined with Metallica and a hint of Dream Theater and Yes. The songs are all instrumental, but are more catchy than anything you'll see on pop radio these days. These kids are more talented than any smuck you'll see on MTV!

Gravity was nice enough to send me their first CD 'Visions Within' and after several listens I can't get the tunes out of my mind. These are one of those CD's that will make you rock out in your car without caring what your neighboring drivers think.

Extremely talented, well produced, great atmosphere and interesting progressive tracks, Gravity has the potiental to be the next big thing and I don't see why they can not be 'the next big thing'! As I find more and more of Generation Y looking towards progressive rock for music, and Generation X and Baby Boomers revisiting it, it seems the time is right for a progressive music movement to start again.

Picture it, long songs on the radio, instrumentals instead of ugly teeny boppers, and maybe even the downfall of American Idol for something much more talented and creative? One can only hope, but with that I hope I wish Gravity all the success and if you are ever near Cleveland, seriously check the guys out, they rock!
