The Alternative Flight Mode allows most Zapbots to have an alternate vehicle version that can fly through atmosphere and space.

Behind the Scenes

This idea was very much from The Last Starfighter where I loved it when the car took off and became a shuttlecraft. I preferred that the GoBots could fly in robot form, and also though that there should be an option for my Zapbots in vehicle form. Of course I didn't realize till many stories later how stupid a floating Boaty would be in space but oh well...
